In order to test whether behavioral manipulations of intermediate hosts trigger shifts in the functioning of these hosts within their environments, I ran experiments using in-situ chambers to see how warming and parasitic infection influence the shredding abilities of amphipods in the environment. The source of warming in this experiment is relatively novel, as thermal effluents from local power plants were utilized as the source of warm and cool treatments.
